Checkpoint Group

Winning Search, Shopping and AI Answers for a Safety Supplier

Checkpoint Group supplies fire and safety equipment to construction, industrial and mining sites across Australia. The products solve an urgent problem, but buyers were finding competitors first in Google Shopping, in organic search, and increasingly in AI-generated answers.

Solution

One programme across paid, organic and AI visibility

We ran Google Shopping, organic search and AI visibility as a single programme rather than three separate channels, so product data, page structure and content improvements compounded instead of competing.

Process

Fixing the product data before scaling the spend

Checkpoint sells hundreds of individual safety products, from fire extinguishers and blankets through to Cygnus wireless alarm units and custom safety trolleys. That range is a strength in the field and a liability in Google Shopping, where every listing competes on the quality of its own data. Cleaning up how those products were described and categorised did more for return on ad spend than any bid adjustment would have.

The organic gains came from the same source. Better structured product and category pages gave Google more to index and gave AI systems clear, self-contained answers to lift. Impressions grew faster than clicks because the site began appearing for a wider set of queries, including the longer, more specific searches a site manager runs when they already know which unit they need.

Media & Websites

Where safety buyers find Checkpoint now

Product listings, category pages and AI answers carry consistent Checkpoint information, from the SiteHUB and All-in-One Station through to Commander fire protection and Cygnus wireless alarm systems.

The same structured product data that feeds Google Shopping also shapes how AI assistants describe the range, which is one reason the citation growth tracked the search growth rather than lagging behind it.
