Reaching Beyond Word of Mouth in the Blue Mountains

CWC Signature Landscapes has designed and built outdoor spaces across the Blue Mountains for more than twenty years, mostly through word of mouth. That reputation travels well locally, but it does not reach a homeowner in Springwood comparing landscapers or a school that needs development application drawings.

Results

One site serving homeowners, schools and councils

A brand-led website that splits residential landscaping, commercial projects and design work into clear pathways, presents twenty years of Blue Mountains portfolio at proper scale, and gives a word-of-mouth business something a stranger can find.

3 Service Lines

Residential, commercial and landscape design, each with a dedicated pathway

DA Ready

Development application landscape plans presented as a service in their own right

Solution

Two buyers, two pathways, one brand

A homeowner planning a backyard and a school business manager needing DA-approved drawings arrive with different questions. We structured the site so both find their answer without wading through the other's content.

Process

Structuring a portfolio around how people choose a landscaper

Word of mouth had done the selling for two decades, so the site had to do what a referral does: prove the work before anyone reads a word about process. We built the architecture around the portfolio first, then split the service structure into residential, commercial and design so each has its own path rather than competing for the same page.

The commercial side needed different handling. Schools, childcare centres and councils buy landscaping through development applications and approvals rather than aspiration, so DA landscape plans sit as a named service instead of a footnote under design. On the residential side we kept the visual direction restrained, with sandstone, timber and planting carrying the premium feel rather than styling effects.

The portfolio doing the persuading

Project pages covering the Blackheath retaining wall, the Leura sandstone feature wall and the Caroline Chisholm School landscape, at a scale that lets the detail read.

We built the portfolio as a template so completed projects publish into the existing structure, which matters for a business whose best marketing asset is the next finished garden.
