Shadeworks

Bringing Three Decades of Craftsmanship Online

Shadeworks has designed and manufactured shade solutions across East Gippsland for more than thirty years, but their website buried the portfolio and left an eight-product range hard to navigate. Homeowners, schools and councils were judging three decades of craftsmanship against a dated first impression.

Results

Making thirty years of craftsmanship visible in a single scroll

A design-led rebuild that presents the full product range clearly, gives residential, commercial and council buyers their own pathway, and routes every enquiry through one obvious next step.

30+ Years

Three decades of local manufacturing and project history now visible from the home page

8 Product Ranges

Shade sails through to roller shutters, structured into four categories buyers can navigate

3 Audiences

Residential, commercial, and schools and councils, each with a dedicated pathway

Solution

Built around how three different buyers shop for shade

We rebuilt the site around materiality, light and outdoor space, then structured eight product ranges into four categories that a Bairnsdale homeowner and a council procurement officer can both navigate.

Process

From a dated site to a design-led platform

The old site was the constraint before the design was. Simple updates took longer than they should have, so the portfolio sat static while the work kept improving. We rebuilt on a platform the Shadeworks team can update themselves, then mapped the product range against how each audience searches. A homeowner comparing Ziptrak blinds and a Victorian school sourcing a compliant playground shade sail want different things from the same business.

Modernising a thirty-year-old brand without erasing it meant restraint. We kept the identity intact and changed the presentation around it: stronger project imagery, a clearer service structure, and messaging that carries local manufacturing and durability without turning technical. The enquiry pathway now sits within reach on every product page rather than at the end of a scroll.

Media & Websites

Showing the work rather than describing it

A fully responsive site with project photography from Lakes Entrance, Orbost and Bairnsdale doing the persuading, alongside client logos from schools, councils and community organisations.

We built the project galleries and product pages as templates, so new installations publish into the existing structure without a redesign as the portfolio grows.
